En Côte d’Ivoire, le grand meeting de Laurent Gbagbo s’est déroulé à un peu plus de six mois de la présidentielle. Ce 12 avril, devant plusieurs milliers de partisans réunis à Dabou, 50km à l’ouest d’Abidjan, l’ex-chef de l’État est revenu sur sa décision de retirer son parti, le PPA-CI, de la commission électorale indépendante. Une CEI jugée inféodée au pouvoir, selon les termes de la formation. Ce choix est défendu par les militants et ne serait qu’une « première étape ».

La militante valide le retrait de la CEI en Côte d’Ivoire. « C’est un ras-le-bol et un cri du coeur en même temps. Tout ce qu’on déplore auprès de la CEI ne se fait pas entendre. Donc, c’est un raz-le-bol ».
Ces partisans exigent entre autres la réintégration de Laurent Gbagbo sur la liste électorale. Il en est radié depuis 2020 à la suite d’une condamnation par la justice. Certains en appellent au président Alassane Ouattara. « Ce ne sera pas la dernière. La question, c’est quand nous allons réagir ».

Face à la foule acquise à sa cause, Laurent Gbagbo a félicité la délégation du PDCI, qui a aussi quitté la CEI. « Je suis heureux que le PDCI nous ait suivis ». Et malgré son inéligibilité, l’ex-président promet que son parti ira jusqu’à la présidentielle. « Je ne veux plus d’une CEI qui rampe. Nous allons aller aux élections et nous allons gagner ». Laurent Gbagbo qui donne rendez-vous dans deux semaines à ses militants pour un nouveau mot d’ordre.
