À l’approche de l’élection présidentielle d’octobre 2025, les représentations extérieures de l’opposition ivoirienne réunies au sein de l’alliance Front Commun (PPA-CI, PDCI-RDA, GPS, CIP) tirent la sonnette d’alarme face aux dérives autoritaires du régime en place et aux menaces qui pèsent sur le processus électoral. S’appuyant sur l’Accord de Samoa, signé le 15 novembre 2023 entre l’Union européenne et les États ACP, qui réaffirme les engagements des pays signataires en faveur de la démocratie, de l’État de droit et du respect des droits humains, l’opposition ivoirienne rappelle que la Côte d’Ivoire est tenue de se conformer à ses obligations internationales. Or, sur le terrain, la réalité est tout autre : les libertés fondamentales sont bafouées, les opposants réprimés, la CEI instrumentalisée, et la liste électorale truffée d’irrégularités.
La première exigence formulée par les partis d’opposition est la réintégration immédiate sur la liste électorale des leaders politiques injustement radiés. Il s’agit notamment de Laurent Gbagbo, président du PPA-CI, acquitté par la Cour pénale internationale mais toujours exclu pour une condamnation nationale contestée ; de Tidjane Thiam, président du PDCI-RDA, dont la radiation pour double nationalité repose sur une procédure sans base légale ; et de Guillaume Soro, exilé, condamné par contumace dans des procès jugés politiques. L’opposition estime que ces exclusions sont délibérées et visent à éliminer toute concurrence sérieuse au président sortant.
La seconde alerte porte sur la volonté manifeste du président Alassane Ouattara de briguer un quatrième mandat, en violation flagrante de l’article 55 de la Constitution, qui limite le nombre de mandats présidentiels à deux. Après avoir imposé un troisième mandat en 2020 au prix de violences post-électorales ayant fait plusieurs dizaines de morts, le chef de l’État s’oriente à nouveau vers un passage en force. Une telle démarche compromet la stabilité du pays et crée un précédent dangereux pour la démocratie en Afrique de l’Ouest.
La troisième revendication concerne la réforme intégrale de la Commission électorale indépendante. L’opposition dénonce sa composition déséquilibrée et son inféodation au pouvoir en place. Elle réclame une CEI véritablement indépendante, dirigée par une personnalité issue de la société civile, crédible et consensuelle, afin de garantir un scrutin libre, transparent et équitable.
Enfin, les représentants de l’opposition dénoncent une répression politique systématique qui cible leurs militants, élus, cadres et soutiens. Arrestations arbitraires, emprisonnements injustifiés, menaces judiciaires, interdictions de rassemblements, entraves à la liberté d’expression et à la presse libre : tous les signaux sont au rouge. Cette dérive autoritaire est incompatible avec les engagements internationaux de la Côte d’Ivoire et compromet gravement la crédibilité du processus électoral.
Face à cette situation, l’opposition appelle Amnesty International, les partenaires bilatéraux et multilatéraux de la Côte d’Ivoire ainsi que les institutions européennes à exiger des autorités ivoiriennes l’ouverture urgente d’un dialogue politique franc et inclusif. Ce dialogue est la condition sine qua non pour éviter une nouvelle crise électorale, préserver la paix sociale et permettre aux Ivoiriens de choisir librement leurs dirigeants dans un climat apaisé et démocratique.
