Le Parti des Peuples Africains – Côte d’Ivoire (PPA-CI), formation politique dirigée par l’ancien président Laurent Gbagbo, affirme avoir été informé de réunions clandestines où seraient évoqués des projets d’attentats ou d’enlèvements visant ses responsables et militants.
« La Direction du PPA-CI est informée de réunions secrètes où sont évoqués des projets d’attentats ou d’enlèvements visant des cadres et militants du Parti », indique un communiqué publié vendredi 5 sept 2025, à l’issue d’une réunion extraordinaire de son Conseil stratégique et politique (CSP).
« Réponses appropriées »
La direction du PPA-CI déclare qu’elle « continuera de dénoncer publiquement ces actes assimilables à du terrorisme ». Le parti assure toutefois que « les Ivoiriens se réservent désormais le droit d’apporter les réponses appropriées aux attaques subies ».
Ces accusations interviennent dans un contexte politique tendu, à moins de deux mois de l’élection présidentielle prévue en octobre 2025, marquée par la volonté affichée du président Alassane Ouattara de briguer un quatrième mandat, une option vivement contestée par l’opposition, dont les principaux leaders sont exclus de la liste électorale.
Le PPA-CI, qui a réaffirmé la candidature « non négociable » de Laurent Gbagbo, intensifie depuis la mi-août ses activités de mobilisation. Selon la direction, des missions de sensibilisation et d’organisation sont déployées à travers le pays pour s’opposer « par tous moyens légaux » à une nouvelle candidature de M. Ouattara.
Le parti accuse par ailleurs le pouvoir d’avoir recours à une Commission électorale « à sa solde » et à une liste électorale « taillée sur mesure » pour préparer ce scrutin.

Interrogées à Abidjan, plusieurs sources proches du parti n’ont pas donné de détails sur les auteurs présumés de ces projets d’attaques, ni sur la manière dont ces informations auraient été obtenues.
Toutefois, elles interviennent le même jour où les autorités ont qualifié vendredi 5 septembre de “totalement infondée” l’information laissant entendre qu’une rencontre confidentielle qui se serait tenue dans le bureau du ministre de l’Intérieur et de la Sécurité.
Cette rumeur autour d’une prétendue « réunion secrète » de cadres du RHDP survient un mois après les violences survenues à Yopougon, dans la nuit du 1er au 2 août, l’une des treize communes du district d’Abidjan. D’abord accusée d’avoir fomenté ces incidents, l’opposition a rejeté toute responsabilité. Plusieurs militants et cadres du Parti des peuples africains-Côte d’Ivoire (PPA-CI, opposition) ont néanmoins été interpellés dans le cadre de l’enquête. Depuis, un jeu d’accusations croisées s’est installé : le pouvoir continue de pointer du doigt l’opposition, tandis que cette dernière accuse les autorités d’être à l’origine des violences pour “museler” ses adversaires politiques.
