C’est une information qui circule depuis un temps dans les milieux Pdci-Rda de la diaspora. Le passeport biométrique de Tidjane Thiam, président du Pdci aurait été désactivé afin de le contraindre à rester à l’extérieur. Selon un cadre Pdci en France contacté par Connectionivoirienne.net, ceci explique en particulier l’absence prolongée du leader du parti démocratique de Côte d’Ivoire. Et il pourrait rester à l’étranger sans participer à la convention élective du candidat du parti le 16 avril prochain si une solution rapide n’est pas trouvée à sa situation.
Contacté, un cadre du ministère des affaires étrangères n’a pas daigné répondre à notre interrogation. Et l’affaire Thiam pourrait prendre une autre allure si cet état de fait se confirmait. Il serait ainsi dans un cas d’apatridie qui ne dit pas son nom si son pays d’origine lui refuse ce précieux document de voyage pour défaut de nationalité.
