Alassane Ouattara briguera un nouveau mandat présidentiel en Côte d’Ivoire le 25 octobre prochain, le quatrième, après avoir été réélu en 2015 et en 2020.
Il l’a annoncé ce mardi dans une allocution diffusée sur les réseaux sociaux. « Notre pays fait face à des défis sécuritaires, économiques et monétaires sans précédents dont la gestion exige de l’expérience. En effet, la menace terroriste grandit dans la sous-région et les incertitudes économiques au niveau international constituent un risque pour notre pays », a affirmé le chef de l’État de 83 ans.
Ce dernier estime avoir la « santé » pour un nouveau mandat qui « sera celui de la transmission générationnelle », selon ses mots.
Alassane Ouattara promet des élections apaisées, démocratiques et transparentes, alors que l’opposition dénonce le processus électoral, notamment en raison du rejet de plusieurs candidatures, dont celles de Tidjane Thiam et de l’ancien président Laurent Gbagbo.
Alassane Ouattara avait été désigné candidat du Rassemblement des houphouëtistes pour la démocratie et la paix (RHDP) lors du congrès du RHDP le 21 juin dernier.
